ARTIST’S STATEMENT
Pinkeye99 is a UK mural artist based in Warrington, best know for the iconic environmental mural “The Pink Tower with the Tear,” painted in 1999.
The artwork featured a colossal eye shedding a tear – a symbol of the environment, representing the Earth, the sea, and the air.
Despite resistance at the time, the mural became a lasting image in the local community and remains central to the identity of the identity of Pinkeye99 today.
Working across murals, painting, and visual storytelling, Pinkeye99 combines bold imagery with meaning= creating art that sits between expression and message.
His work continues to explore themes of environment, resilience, and real-life experience, turning ideas into lasting visual statements.

Pinkeye99 is a self-taught UK artist whose journey began at an early age, developing a passion for painting and drawing from childhood.
Based in Warrington, his work evolved through years of hands -on experience, leading to the creation the Pink Tower mural in 1999 – a defining moment that shaped his artistic journey.
Today, Pinkeye99 continues to create mural art and visual work inspired by real events, combining technical skill with personal story.
